Meet someone new
Put yourself out there and introduce yourself to someone you don’t already know. Who knows? You may be surprised at the friendship that forms.
Be active
The weather isn’t always ideal for activity but your body will thank you for it. Get involved with intramural or fitness classes on campus! Staying active will not only help you feel better but keep you sharper and more alert.
Eat healthy
Like us, you may have indulged in some treats over the holidays. However, this time of the year we often have to rely on what we eat to get the nutrients our bodies need. Make sure you get plenty of Vitamin B to make up for the lack of sunshine and keep your immune system healthy in these notoriously sickness-heavy months.
Develop healthy sleeping habits
After a few weeks of rest and extra sleep, it’s helpful to get back into a regular sleeping routine. Going to bed at a consistent time and waking up without feeling rushed will help you feel better each day.
Clean and organize your environments
Having a clean and organized space will help you mentally stay organized.
Be prepared
Take a few minutes to look over your class syllabi and know what to expect before you start each class.
Maximize your time at the beginning of the semester
Even if you only have assignments due later, use the beginning of the semester to get ahead on a few projects so you can pace yourself later on.
Spiritual discipline
It’s healthy for your spiritual growth to set aside regular times of isolation to refocus and remember why you are at a place like Briercrest.
